Tickets were a few dollars cheaper buying right before online. Fort wasn't busy, and we had time to browse the history of Key West and the Fort itself. If you go to see Robert The Doll, make sure to ask permission for pics and be nice! There is a legendary curse attached to him. Great historical tour.
This is probably the most disappointing museum I have visited in Florida. The museum concept here works more than anything to show the junkyard work of local folk artist welder Stanley Papi. They need to add more historical content & artifacts. General admission is $15.50. For those interested in the allegedly haunted doll with supernatural abilities, they have to pay $45.00 dollars in a tour called 'Ghost Hunt & Robert The Doll Experience".
I did have a Pic of Robert, and yes, I did ask him if I could take a picture of him and Otto his dog. But it just didn't feel right, so I deleted those 2 pics. The museum was really cool. It's a must-see if visiting Key West.
Not so much to see in the museum. It feels like they put some unrelated stuff (mostly ghost stuff) in the museum probably due to its history. But it was just OK though it was a fun story to us. We thought it would be organized as a big ghost house, but after entering the fort from the gift shop, it becomes all bright during the day, losing the atmosphere. So I won't say it worths the $17 ticket.
Fort East Martello is very cool! It was great to go there and learn the history. Going up to the top of the tower and seeing the beautiful view of the water was awesome. Plus the place was small so it was a fun and quick in and out place. Definitely worth going to! Have a great day!!!πΊπΈπ¦

Had a fun time doing the ghost tour and seeing Robert the Doll. It's definitely worth doing VIP so you can explore after the tour and go to the top of the middle building. Once you have done the tour, once you're good. Have fun!
This is not kept up like any museum I've ever seen. It seems to me that they have night fright type tours or raves and it is mostly kept in that manner: sparse, disheveled, spooky, e.t.c. Which is too bad. Some of the pieces could be nicer with repair and maintenance. We did see a few iguanas in the inner courtyard! The courtyard restroom does not properly lock, so maybe post a guard. Robert the doll thing was all they had going for them. I think the view from the top was nice, but not worth the admission...
If you need to spend a couple of hours stuck at the airport, you should check out this museum. Well worth the price of entry. The exhibits were informative of the history of Key West and other Keys. Be sure to vist the top of the citadel for the view. As a side note, I did not photograph Robert as I could not be sure he was OK with it.
